Don’t Think. Just Dance.
My name is Jen Sassak and I have been dancing since the age of five. I have studied ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, pointe, modern, contemporary, and musical theater dance. At the age of fifteen I auditioned for my first community theater production and I have been hooked on musical theater style dancing ever since. I have experience teaching dance to children and adults of all ages. I have been a dance camp counselor, a dance teacher and I am currently a community theater choreographer.
In 2014 I was the heaviest weight I'd ever been in my adult life. That year I auditioned for two different musicals, that ran rehearsals at the same time. I was in rehearsals five to six nights a week, plus working a full time job. There was no time for the gym. But I quickly found I didn't need to make time for the gym. The weight started dropping off just by participating in musical theater rehearsal. I was doing what I loved, having fun, and dropping weight at the same time. I weighed myself on May 11, 2014, the day I began rehearsing for both musicals at once. Fast forward to January of 2015, and I had lost forty pounds.
The idea behind All That Sass came from my own personal success story and multiple former cast members that have been in productions I've choreographed. Many of them wanted a way to get the dance experience and workout that being in a production provides without the time commitment of being in a full length musical. After hearing multiple testimonials about how much weight a cast member lost, or what great shape they got in during a production, the idea of a musical theater style dance fitness class was born.
This dance fitness program is truly one of a kind. From the unique atmosphere to the very specific style of music and dance, everything was carefully thought out in order to give dancers the best possible experience.
